Our Story
Four Decades of Award-Winning Dahlias
Highland Dahlias is a family farm at Mittagong, in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales. Founded in 1985 by Olwyn and Gerard Oldfield, we've spent over 40 years perfecting our craft.
We held the title of Most Successful Exhibitor at the Sydney Royal Easter Show for 15 consecutive years, and returned in 2025 to claim it again after a 17-year break.

Most Successful Exhibitor
Plant in Spring
Plant tubers after the last frost when soil reaches 15°C. Space 60–90cm apart for best results.
Bloom all Summer
Dahlias bloom from December through May in Australia, providing months of spectacular colour.
Lift in Autumn
After the first frost, lift tubers and store in a cool, dry place to replant next season.
